Michael Maloney  |  Founder & CEO

Michael is the founder and CEO of LEARN Behavioral. Michael founded Learn It Systems, the predecessor to LEARN, in 2007 with a bold mission; to help all children succeed in school in life. Since inception, the organization has helped more than 100,000 children find success. Michael previously led the establishment of the Catapult Learning's No Child Left Behind (NCLB) supplemental services programs in more than 50 school districts nationwide. Prior to his education work, Michael worked at the Smithsonian Institution where he steered the production of more than 150 educationally-focused recordings, including six Grammy Award nominations and three Grammy Award-winning recordings. Michael is passionate about education and lives in Baltimore, Maryland with his wife and three children. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Catholic University of America.


Don Scheeler | President, behavioral programs and head of corporate development

Don oversees programs for children with special needs at LEARN Behavioral, as well as its corporate development activities. He brings to the company more than 25 years of experience in operations, finance, and human resources. Don spent 15 years with the Sylvan/Educate family of companies and served as the President and CEO of Progressus Therapy (now Invo Healthcare) and the General Manager for the higher education startup 2U (formerly 2tor). Don holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Maryland and a Masters in Business Management from the Johns Hopkins University.


Justin Funches  |  President, Autism Services

Justin oversees LEARN's autism services. He has spent the last decade working in the special needs community. Prior to joining LEARN he worked at Progressus Therapy (now Invo Healthcare) where he led strategy, marketing, sales, and corporate development functions. He is a founding board member of the National Coalition for Access to Autism Services, and previously served as the chairman of the Boston Preparatory Public Charter School. Justin holds a Masters in Business Administration and Bachelors of Arts in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University. He lives in Chicago, Illinois with his wife and two young boys.


Tom Sibson  |  chief financial officer

Tom leads LEARN's financial and accounting functions and has more than 30 years of leadership experience in finance and operations. Prior to joining LEARN, he was with Bayada Home Health Care, one of the nation’s largest home health providers where he served as Chief Transformation Officer and Chief Financial and Administrative Officer. Tom is a CPA and holds an MBA from New York University and an undergraduate in business from Drexel University.


robert haupt, MA, bcba  |  Executive vice president, autism services

Rob leads partnerships and contracting for LEARN's autism provider network. His teams work closely with insurance companies, schools, and other funding sources to obtain services for LEARN's clients. Rob received a Master’s of Science from California State University, Los Angeles in counseling. He is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and trained in working with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities across their lifespan. Carmen leads LEARN’s talent management efforts, including recruitment, training, and staff development. Prior to joining Learn It in 2014, Carmen held senior HR leadership positions at Tissue Banks International, AAI Corporation, PayPal and Educate/Sylvan. Carmen holds a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from Old Dominion University.



Russell oversees all aspects of technology at LEARN, including vision, strategy, and execution across its many divisions. He brings to the job 22 years of information technology experience in K-12 education, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and telecommunications. Prior to joining LEARN, Russell was the Executive Director of Technology for Education Station, a division of Educate, Inc. He received his Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from West Virginia University and holds the Microsoft certifications MCP, MCSD, and MCAD.



Dr. Hanna C. Rue is Head of Clinical Development for LEARN’s. She oversees clinical standards and assists in the design and implementation of numerous research projects and staff training protocols. Dr. Rue is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Massachusetts and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She obtained her doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of North Dakota and completed her pre-doctoral training at May Institute. Her current research includes identification of evidence-based practice for treatment of ASD and skill acquisition procedures.
